WORLD RELIGION
This week I am taking a class during spring break called World Religions and Cults. We study and travel to various sites of 4 major religions (Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism) and two cults (Jehovah Witness and Mormon). We observe their worship services and have personal interaction with the people. Yesterday (Tues), we went to a Jehovah's Witness service. Tomorrow (Wed), we will go to 2 Jewish synagogues and Thursday we will go to a Muslim mosque and a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) meeting house.
Today, we visited two Hindu temples and one Buddhist temple. The people were very nice and we had a wonderful time. Their lost condition breaks my heart and you could see the emptiness in their eyes as they talked about how hard they work to satisfy their gods and gain their favor. It reminded me of Acts 17:16-34, when Paul was reasoning with the idol worhipers and philosophers in Athens and telling them about Christ, the One who's finished work on the cross redeems any who repent and call upon the Name that is above all names... Here are some photos of the Hindu and Buddhist. Frank
